The plaque commemorating the creation of Aleksandre Fredro Dramatic Association (“Fredreum” Theatre) was unveiled in 1969, in the 100th anniversary of the founding of the theatre.

The Dramatic Association Fredreum was created in Przemyśl in 1869. It is the oldest amateur theatre in Poland, and probably in the whole Europe. A polish comedy writer, Aleksander Fredro, who came from this region, became its patron since 1912. The theatre is functioning to this day. It still stages popular comedies of Fredro, but also tries to implement present-day repertoire.
