The Coins from Przemyśl

The coin 2 PLN nordic gold Przemyśl from „Historical Polish Cities” series:

Revers: an image of the Cathedral Basilic dedicated to St John the Baptist in Przemyśl. A semicircular writing “Przemyśl” is situated in the left top part.

Abvers of the coins from the “Historical Polish Cities” series is the same for all of the coins. In the central part there is an image of a white eagle from Poland’s coat of arms. To the right is an inscription: “2 Zł”, and to the top a semicircular writing:

“RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA” and the date of emission: 2007. Underneath the eagle is a stylized part of the municipal wall with blanks and an open gate with a grate in the headroom. Under the eagle’s left claw is the sign of the mint: MW.

In order to commemorate this year the 620 year anniversary of Przemyśl’s municipal rights renewal a local ducat “4 Przemyśl’s half-pennies” was introduced.
